B1 · U10

Sunt de acord? Nu chiar.

Agreement, disagreement, and opinions for more natural discussion

The Vibe

I agree, I do not quite agree, it seems too expensive to me, but maybe this option is still better

`B1_U10` makes speech more social and more argument-driven. You can now do more than state a fact: you can react to another person's view, agree, disagree softly, and formulate your own position.

By the end of this unit you can

  • agree and disagree more naturally
  • express an opinion without sounding too blunt or too flat
  • add a short argument: why you think that
  • take part in a simple discussion rather than only giving short answers

Where the topic becomes useful immediately

It is needed in any discussion scene: discussing an idea, choosing an option, disagreeing without conflict, giving soft feedback, or adding your own point of view.

Function Form Example

Grammar Hack

Not just agree/disagree

The most useful thing here is not only agreeing, but doing it with a shade: fully, partly, cautiously, reluctantly.

Opinion language is a social tool

These forms matter not because of grammar, but because they make conversation more real and less abrupt.

Softness often matters more than bluntness

`Mi se pare că`, `cred că`, and `nu chiar` often sound more natural than a harsh direct rejection.

The argument can stay short

At this level, one reason is enough: too expensive, too late, clearer, calmer, more useful.

A bridge into real discussion B1

This topic opens the door to discussion, not just description.

How it sounds in a real reaction

simple agreement / disagreement

This is the basic social response.

  • Sunt de acord.
  • Nu sunt de acord.
  • Ai dreptate.

soft and argued reaction

This is where speech starts sounding more mature and natural.

  • Cred că ai dreptate, dar varianta asta e mai simplă.
  • Mi se pare că e prea scump.
  • După părerea mea, ar trebui să plecăm mai devreme.

Nice to Know

This is one of the key discussion units. With it, the learner stops merely answering and starts actually taking part in the conversation, holding a position and reacting to another one.

The Real Deal

  • sorting: agreement / disagreement / opinion / softening
  • matching: сцена дискуссии и реакция
  • fill-in: opinion chunks in context
  • correction: a flat exchange becomes more natural
  • speaking: a mini discussion with reaction and one short argument

Full tasks and answer keys live in structured `exercises.json`.

Shadowing & Audio

The shadowing keeps the same dense `B1` rhythm, but now it carries more social reaction language: agreement, disagreement, soft argument, and re-framing.

Flashcards

The flashcards stay dense, but ready-made social chunks matter especially here, more than isolated words on their own.
